competitive programs

The Competitive Gymnastics program will continue the traditions of the U of C Gymnastics Centre, offering high level coaching, the most advanced equipment, and training and competitive opportunities for athletes to strive for excellence at the highest levels.

Inclusion is our driving philosophy, offering every child the opportunity to reach whatever level he or she has the capacity to achieve. We will be honouring the balance of high-level training, educational excellence, opportunities to participate in other sports and time necessary for children to be children.

The Varsity Gymnastics WAG program is built on positivity, respect, and encouragement. Although Women’s Gymnastics is very individual, we aim to create a team atmosphere.

Every athlete is assessed and mentored in realistic goal-setting in order to achieve their personal best. We strive to develop every athlete’s physical and mental strength, self esteem, and to instill valuable lessons that will last a lifetime.

Varsity Gymnastics provides training and competitive opportunities for athletes from the beginner to the elite level. The program has produced national and international medalists including three members of the 2008 Canadian Olympic Team.

Through a system based on realistic goal-setting and achievement, we encourage our athletes to take ownership and pride in their hard work and successes. Our goal is to create a positive atmosphere with top quality programming that inspires, motivates and develops each individual gymnast to reach their full potential.
